"New Abenaki Trails Sculpture Will Highlight Local Indigenous Culture"
Carol received an Artist-led Project Grant from the NH State Council on the Arts (funded through National Endowment for the Arts CARES Act pandemic relief ) to create a bas-relief sculpture for the Abenaki Trail in Contoocook, commemorating Indigenous people in New Hampshire. Working directly with members of the Nulhegan band of the Coosuk Abenaki Nation, Carol designed a piece showing a tribal elder in regalia standing behind a modern Abenaki tribesman looking toward the future.
